Definite Verb Conjugation in the Present Tense

The definite conjugation is used with transitive verbs when the action points to a specific, clearly identified object. The object is definite if it has the definite article a/az, is a proper name, or has a possessive ending such as “my book” or “your house.”

Compare:

• A férfi olvas egy könyvet. - The man is reading a book. Indefinite conjugation.
• A férfi olvassa a könyvet. - The man is reading the book. Definite conjugation.

Definite endings:
